Dr Yiqiang Chen is a professor of Institute of Computing Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He received the BASc and MA degrees from the University of Xiangtan in 1996 and 1999, respectively, and the PhD degree from the Institute of Computing Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2002. In 2004, he was a visiting scholar researcher in the Department of Computer Science at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST). From 2004-2006, he is the vice Director-general of Shanghai Institute of Computing technology (the ICT Shanghai division). He is now a professor and Vice Director of pervasive computing research center of ICT. His research interests include pervasive computing and intelligent human computer interaction. He was a member of the Multimedia System and Application Technical Committee of IEEE Circuit and System Society. He is an academic committee member of the YOCSEF, China Computer Forum. He serves as PC chair, track chair and workshop chair for several international conferences. He is a senior member of IEEE. He has published about 60 papers on International Journal IEEE TKDE, IEEE TNN, IJIIS, PR and CGF, also International conference ACM Multimedia, Siggraph Asia, PerCom, ICME, PCM. He has more than 20 patents and 5 have get authorization. One of his works named Chinese Sign Language Synthesis system now has been used in 300 deaf middle schools all around china. And also has been used in 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. He was award the National Science and Technology Award (Second Level) the top award in China Science area on 2004 and been selected as new star scientist of Beijing on 2005.
